This was a solid update for iPhone users and added features like Facebook sharing, panoramic photos (4S only) and many other features.
2. Apple updates phones yearly.
It’s hard trying to sell your phone and get used to a phone every year. I have done that for the last four years and I figured I would take a break and keep what I have for a while. I think Apple does a great job of marketing that you need the “new” features of the phone, but really, you can wait for some of them, especially if you have the latest phone.
3. The Lightning Adapter
I am not a big fan of the new adapter. I am sure one day I will learn to like it, but for now, I don’t want to replace it or buy adapters to work with it. I am a fan of the earpods which I think were long overdue.
4. My case
I really like my case, it’s chargeable and it protects my phone really well. I use a Mophie case and they do have new cases for the iPhone 5, but I’m not ready to shell out cash for a new case yet.
5. My 4s works just fine
Change is always hard, and I have a good working iPhone 4s. iOS6 didn’t slow my phone down and I didn’t see any new features on the iPhone 5 that made we want to order immediately or wait in line. Maybe I am just getting older or wiser or maybe my priorities are in alignment as my wife may say, either way I will get a new iPhone eventually but for now I am sticking with the iPhone 4s.
I think the iPhone 5 is a great device and a solid upgrade for people who never owned an iPhone. It’s also good for people who are eligible for an upgrade. I received many texts and emails asking me how much they should sell their old iPhone on Craigslist or on eBay and I will write a post about that soon.
Are you planning to upgrade? Why or why not?
