I met Heber Brown, III before he was a pastor. He has always been activist, but I was drawn to him by his writings on his long-standing blog, Faith in Action. On this blog he chronicles his political positions, struggles with power and even issues has with his ministerial colleagues. He is a person that calls a spade, a spade and I respect that.
I had the opportunity to work on a short documentary project for his church, Pleasant Hope Baptist in Baltimore and below is a clip of him preaching.
Why Heber is Amazing
Pastor Brown is about social justice. And he really believes faith without action (works) is dead. Heber is a rising star in Baltimore, but he gives all glory to God as he works in his purpose and that is to make a better life for those around.
