How to export an alpha channel in After Effects

I am by no means an After Effects guru, but I know how to create titles and to get things out of the program, and I feel that is the least you need to know. I am realizing with teaching software you will never know EVERY piece well, but you need to know how to get things in and how to adjust/edit things that other motion/graphic designers give you so you won’t be stuck, and being stuck on a deadline is not a good feeling.     You are using After Effects and I am busy trying to get Movie Maker to work for me! I can’t stand windows! I need an easy editing program that I can do personal videos on pc…any suggestions? I know you have probably wrote about it so link me to the article or video.

    Windows Movie Maker is like iMovie on a Mac. I just feel that you should switch if you want to do creative work.  You can use Adobe Premiere, but that is so expensive.  – Chip Dizard

    Not necessarily trying to do super creative work. Just some small fun videos with an intro outro and a few text captions. Nothing big.
